Office of the CFO
Office of the CFO Support for PE Portfolio Companies
When the finance function needs more than a fractional CFO—it needs architecture.
The fractional CFO market is crowded. Most offer strategic advice and monthly financial reviews. What PE-backed portfolio companies actually need is different: someone who can design and build the finance infrastructure—close process, reporting cadence, controls, systems—and then hand off a function that runs independently. That's not advisory. That's Architecture.
Architecture, Not Attendance
- Close process design. We build the monthly close alongside your team—not to replace them, but to establish the process, train the team, and hand off a repeatable system that works without us.
- Board and investor reporting. Financial packages, KPI dashboards, variance analysis. We build the infrastructure and the first few packages, then transfer ownership.
- FP&A buildout. Budgets, forecasts, scenario models, cash flow projections. For portfolio companies that have never had a formal FP&A function, we build one from scratch—right-sized for the business, not oversized.
- Controller gap coverage. Between the controller who left and the controller you're hiring, the books still need to close. We provide continuity.
Then Advisory Keeps It Running
After Architecture, Verzia Advisory provides ongoing access—quarterly reviews, real-time advisory, and continuous exit-readiness monitoring. The finance function operates independently. We stay available for the questions that arise between board meetings.
The measure of a good engagement is that you don't need us at the end of it. Advisory exists for companies that want to stay sharp, not because they can't function without us.
How We Work
Diagnose → Architect → Advise
Every engagement follows a lifecycle designed for PE timelines. Most clients enter at the Diagnostic. Some come to us mid-hold with a specific architecture need. A few stay for ongoing advisory through exit.
