The Cadre
The best work happens when sharp minds choose each other.
The Verzia Cadre is a small, invitation-only group of senior finance practitioners who believe rigor and warmth strengthen each other.
Why We Built This
Why the Cadre Exists
We started with a question most consulting models skip: What do the best practitioners actually need?
Not a bench to sit on. Not a logo to borrow. Not a pipeline of anonymous engagements.
They need work that matches their expertise. Colleagues who operate at their level. A principal who provides strategic cover so they can do what they do best. And a community that treats clarity as a form of kindness.
The Cadre exists because exceptional people do their best work inside a structure that respects their autonomy, invests in their growth, and holds the standard high enough to mean something.
Our Values
Humans First, Excellence Together
Five commitments that define how we work together.
Say the Real Thing
We don't dance around what's true. We say what we see, early and respectfully, so no one is guessing where things stand. Clear words, kind intent, and no end-of-project "gotchas."
Bring Your Whole Skill, Stay Humble
You've done hard things: rebuilds, audits, ugly turns. We want all of that on the table. You speak from experience, listen like you might be wrong, and let the work carry the room.
Share What You Know
We assume this is a room we can trust. So we trade playbooks, lessons learned, and the stories of what actually happened. When we give more than we guard, everyone levels up faster.
Raise the Bar, Not Your Ego
We work in places where "good enough" costs real money and trust. So we prepare, sweat the details, and fix what isn't right. The goal is to leave the client and each other stronger than we found them.
Climb Together
No one here is doing solo heroics. We watch out for each other's energy, celebrate the small wins, and pull each other up when the work is heavy. When one of us grows, the whole Cadre moves.
Who We Look For
Who Thrives Here
We don't recruit résumés. We recruit practitioners.
The distinction matters. A résumé tells us where you've been. We want to know how you think, how you lead when no one's watching, and whether you'll tell a CFO the truth even when it's uncomfortable.
Practitioners in the Cadre typically bring
10+ years in finance operations, accounting, or FP&A
Direct PE experience. You've worked inside or alongside portfolio companies
Deep expertise in at least one core area: NetSuite, ASC 606, financial close, post-merger integration, audit readiness, or AI-enabled finance
Comfort with pace. PE timelines don't accommodate learning curves
Intellectual honesty. Saying "I don't know yet" is a strength here.
The Model
How It Works
Principal-led. Practitioner-powered. No ambiguity.
Verzia principals scope every engagement and lead the client relationship. You never walk into a room cold. The strategic direction, client dynamics, and quality expectations are established before you begin.
You're matched on expertise and fit, not availability. We don't fill seats. We match practitioners to engagements where their specific experience creates outsized value.
All work ships under Verzia methodology. Defined quality standards. Deliverable templates. A shared language for what "done well" looks like. It's the scaffold that lets you focus on the work itself.
Project-based. Clear scope. Real outcomes. Every engagement has a defined timeline, deliverables, and success criteria. No ambiguous retainers. No scope creep without a conversation.
What Practitioners Get
The infrastructure without the institution.
PE-grade engagements without the business development burden. We bring the work to you.
A recognized brand with established client relationships and a reputation that precedes you in the room.
Strategic direction from a principal who's done the work, not just managed it.
A community of peers who challenge your thinking, share their playbooks, and actually answer when you call.
Flexibility by design. Project-based work that fits how experienced professionals want to operate.
Growth that compounds. Access to methodologies, frameworks, and diagnostic tools that sharpen your practice. Not just this engagement, every one after it.
Leading with Clarity
A note on what we're building.
Most consulting networks optimize for utilization. Fill the bench. Bill the hours. Move on.
We're building something different.
The Cadre is rooted in a simple belief: the best finance practitioners in PE don't need to be managed. They need to be matched with the right work, the right team, and the right standards. They need a place where their expertise is valued, their autonomy is protected, and the expectation of excellence is the price of entry. Not an aspiration on a wall.
There's a difference between belonging and fitting in. Fitting in is assessing and acclimating. Belonging is showing up as you are and being met there. We want the Cadre to be a place where experienced professionals belong. Where the work is worthy of what you bring to it. Where candor is how we care for each other.
Size was never the goal. We're building the network the best people want to stay in.
